video/Group 2 Alyssa, Jacob, Kayla, Courtney, Da'Marcus, Aubree, Kaci, The illusion (Justin). What this group did well was: -They had great interviews -The age difference varied from around 4 or five to around 70 -It was also good how they just randomly interviewed kids -They got every member of the group in the video at least once What this group did bad or could do better on: - The interviews dragged on they could try to have some other interviews cut in and out, or edit the interview and take the bad information out -I couldn't hear it that well so next time they could make sure that the audio was good -Next time maybe work on the skit more and have the people talk louder Video/Group 3 T-bone, Sam, Keaton, Mav, Mariah, Carly, Boots (Emily), Kelsey. What this group did well was: -They had a good opening - They had good quality answers -Very good interviews -The video gave good information -I liked the examples of the stereotypes and then the group members modeling it What this group did bad or could do better: -The words didn't match their mouths -The video was lagging so they could try to find a solution to that problem prior to the showing -I didn't understand the ending so maybe they could have explained that a little better My group/video 1 Cam, B-rad, Sam, Tasha, Tanman, Brooke, Buggy, Bailey What we did good: -Our skit was good and showed stereotypes -We had good interviews -We had good answers -We had a lot of different age groups we interviewed What we could have worked on: First off we had some editing errors that we could have fixed and we should have went through it one more time before turning it in. some of our interviews had a lot of the same ages. Working in a group setting: I think that working in a group is better than individual. i like it because you can split up work and it will become easier and less stress over getting all the work done. Also, the other group members will help push you to get the work done because its a team effort and you want to get a good grade along with your group members. If one member needs help doing something you can help them and they can also help you with the work. The Technology portion: I liked the technology because it was'nt hard to use. The only difficulty was that the movie maker was confusing at first, but once we figured it out it was easy. I liked using the technology too because it was fun and easy to interview all of the people getting to know their answers. Terms:
Even though the body is able to react to sexual pleasures and simulations There may sometimes be Sexual dysfunctions. These are quite common among 43% of woman and 31% of men at some points in their lives, according to the evidence in the national survey from Laumen, Paik, & Rosen, 1999; Rosen, Laumen 2003. There are a number of dysfunctions, Hypoactive sexual desire, which characterized by little to no sexual interest or desire. Another dysfunction is sexual aversion disorder which is a type of sexual aversion disorder involving repulsion or strong aversion to genital sexual contact. This disorder generally shows in people who have had some type of sexual trauma such as sexual abuse or even rape. The third dysfunction is Male erectile disorder, this disorder is when a male cannot maintain an erection or even get one. This usually occurs when the male is older. There is a dysfunction that is similar to this one which is called female orgasmic arousal disorder. The woman can not get sexually aroused or may not be able to produce the natural lubricant. Women with Female orgasmic disorder and male orgasmic disorder is when a woman cannot reach an orgasm or have troubles reaching an orgasm. In some cases the person can reach an orgasm through masturbation, but not through sexual intercourse with their partner. Even though some of the professionals understand the dysfunctions they still debate how to define them. One of the last dysfunctions is Premature ejaculation. This dysfunction is the most common one among males. Its charactorized by rapid ejaculation with minimal stimulation. Research states that 3 in 10 males suffer from this. Many professionals relate this to psychological problems, such as relationship issues. Some couples fall into a "rut", where they dont express their sexual needs so their lovemaking doesnt occur that often. Survivors of rape and sexual traumas will often not be able to participate in sexual acts due to disgust. Also people wont have sex because of Performance anxiety. This plays a key role in many cases of sexual dysfunctions. This is an excessive concern about how well one is performing. Anxiety may make it impossible for a man to achieve or sustain an erection or a woman to become lubricated or achieve an orgasm. Instead of focusing on on the sexual experience they are focusing on their bodies and how their bodies respond. Some men may get so filled with anxiety that may cause them to not be able to get an erection. Many couples when faced with these problems will go to sex therapy and get a treatment method called Sensate-focus exercises
Task #1: We had to read 11.2 (page 434-447) Task #2 We were told Research how culture plays a part in gender differences. Provide information on two different cultures and their unique perspectives on gender roles/identity. Don't forget to cite and link your sources. Gender roles in Japan In the article that I have read, the Japanese culture still involves the woman staying home and not interfering with the mans work or business. The woman usually will mostly stay home and do the cooking and the cleaning and taking care of the children or their parents who are sick or just too old to live by their self while the husband is the major bread winner. The Japanese culture now is compared to the 1950's America. Even though the gender equality are slowly evolving they still don't even compare to the equality in the Japanese culture. http://jkephartjapan.weebly.com/blog/gender-roles-in-japanese-society Website: http://jkephartjapan.weebly.com/blog/gender-roles-in-japanese-society Gender Roles in Brazil In this article it explains that the woman will only usually make around 75% of what the average male will make. The woman of this culture will also not have the same job opportunities that the men do in the work force. The women were only given the adult rights during the 1960's so they still do not get a big say around the house and during work. Around the house the men and women have traditional job such as the women cooks cleans and tends to the children; while the husband will go to work come home and do the repair and outside "manlier" jobs. The schools have to offer but not make the students take a sex ed course from K-12 to be sure that they get the proper education and live a healthy life. The government has put around $1.5 billion into the abstinent-only-until-marriage-fund. http://cache3.asset-cache.net/xt/78488306.jpg? v=1&g=fs1%7C0%7CSTK%7C88%7C306&s=1 Website: https://www.aclu.org/reproductive-freedom/sex-education Sweden's teaching of sexual education
In Sweden, the attitude towards sexual education is looked at as a liberal point of view. The family and sex education has been taught in schools since the 1950's. seeing how the age of consent is 15, The Swedish people aren't as hard on the "sex can wait" philosophy as American people are. They have free abortions and condoms so they are not very caring about sexual activities. Website: http://sti.bmj.com/content/78/5/352.full http://radio.foxnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Top-Toy-boy-playing-with-doll1.jpgI think that it is harder to be a man in today's society. for example in the article "Men are Stuck In Gender Roles Data Suggests" the little boy gets threats and looked down upon because he is interested in girls toys and activities. While the boy is getting ridiculed and judged, a girl could go play baseball or football with boys she would be looked at as strong or confident. "If a little girl is running around on the baseball team with her mitt, people think, 'That's a strong girl". Yes I understand that it is a little odd that a boy is running around in a dress, but its also weird to a lot of people that a girl is playing a boys sport and not getting judged. "Men have had to struggle with what masculinity means to them if they're not the sole breadwinner". Men have been providing the income for their family for many years and now all of a sudden women are taking jobs that men have been doing for years. Understand that i know some women struggle and I am not bashing women in any way im just saying that it is a hard change that men have to adjust to. For women I think that it is easier for them to live in today society for many reasons. For example they can easily obtain a job while they have their husbands are stay at home dads. its harder for men to fit in with the social standard because they have to have the nicest car or make the most money while women can do something a man can and be looked at as a strong women. These examples and quotes are some reasons that i believe that woman have it easier in today's society. http://wgnsradio.com/files/image/Sports/Little_Leaguers/abigail_2.jpg http://www.google.com/search?q=Dr.Money+David+images&safe= The life of David was a weird and unusual life. when he was born during the circumcision the doctors accidentally cut off the babies penis which would cause him to grow up not knowing his gender. When the psychologist Dr.Money found out he thought it was the perfect opportunity for a psychological experiment. Growing up Davids mom was determined that his sex was going to be a girl. Growing up David was confused about his gender identity. He was wearing little girl cloths but he always wanted to participate in boys activities. His gender expression was all over the place, he was playing with little girl toys but then at the same time he was playing with his brothers trucks and toy soldiers. When David decided to come out to everybody that he was a boy, it was hard for him because he didn't have any friends and everybody thought that he was odd. As he became older he decided to have a surgery to have a penis this helped him find out who he really was. when he was older he met his wife. thus figuring out his sexual orientation. But he could never find a job to support his family because nobody would hire him. tragically the depression and his life problems got to him and he ended up committing suicide. Dr. Money hurt the process, he pushed the twins too hard especially David. the way he conducted the experiments with anger and aggression pushed him to not like Dr. Money. and chose not to listen to what he was saying until he forced the twins to acknowledge and follow his decisions. When the David was in the inter-sex stage when they couldn't tell whether he was a boy or a girl Money was being to stern with her and i think that pushed her towards the decision of becoming a boy. http://www.google.com/search?q=Dr.Money+David+images&safe=strict&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS624US624&es_sm=93&biw=1280&bih=923&tbm=isch&imgil I feel like the reason that some of the 18-23 year old feel that way is because they don't want to grow up. they realize that they have to start to mature and act like adults and take over their responsibilities as an adult. so they ignore all the signs that are saying that its time to grow up and take responsibility for your life. I think that they don't want to grow up is because they are scared of the real world. also that they are too reliant on their parent or parents. They have been babied their whole life and they aren't ready for that to stop yet.
Son: Has a job being an inventor but is cheap. he agrees with his mom a lot to make her happy. He cares a lot for his mom. They have a good relationship. he always tries to help her without her knowledge. Doesn't always listen to his mom.
Mom: obsessed with her son and what he is doing. wants to make her son happy all the time. they have a good relation ship. she is very open with her son, maybe a little too open. she is going through mentapaous so she is forgetful. doesn't have any boundaries and she never stops talking. My Response: I feel like growing old will be a confusing time for me. Honestly i don't even want to grow old. Because when i am growing old i will be very forgetful. i will have lived through most of my life then i will have to be dependent on my family because i wont be able to do as much as i would like. i see that happening with my dad sometimes and it honestly breaks my heart that he cant be running around like he used to. I agree that by not doing the work is some sort of quitting but the teachers have no idea how stressful it is to have school 7 hours a day 5 days a week having to work all day and then go home with an additional 3 or 4 hours of work than on top of that have a social life then find time to sleep. They also don't understand that most students have sports they have to deal with. When I have hockey I don't get home till like 6 that leaves me with a lot of home work and i still have to eat. I wont get to bed till at least 11. They don't have to deal with the stress and the countless anxiety attacks we have a day because we cant handle the stress the careless teachers put on us. they expect way to much from the student body.
Letter to my freshman self: Dear Cameron, Task #1: when I graduate high school I am planning on attending college. I would prefer if I would dorm but as long as I am going to college i'm fine with commuting. I plan on getting a job so I can go out and do things. I will most likely attend college for 4 years. Have about 4 colleges in mind but if I had to narrow it down i would choose Ferris state university.
When I reach college I am going to major in criminal justice. Task#2: question 1: why did you choose the field of work you are going into? 2:was it hard leaving your family to live at college? 3: how are the living conditions? 4: Did you visit your family a lot? 5: how big are the rooms?' 6: how far away is your family from you? 7: Did you meet any new friends there? 8: why did you choose to dorm? 9: do you regret that decision? 10: did your parents ever visit? Task #3: 1: I chose this field because i have always been interested in criminal justice 2: At first it was a hard transition but after a while it became easier 3: The living conditions were pretty good I never had any problems 4: I usually visited them on holidays and about every other weekend 5: the rooms were a decent size it wasn't that big but it still gave me enough room 6: I went to Ferris state so they were about 45 minutes away 7: Yes I made a couple of friends up at college 8: I chose to dorm so i would experience living alone and so I didn't have to drive all that way 9: no I don't it was a good experience 10: they came up a lot at first but then they didn't visit as much What I learned that it wont be as easy at first to move away from home but after a while it will become easier to do. I still want to dorm and go into criminal justice. I still am going to be nervous to move away from my family but I will be able to do it. |
